Laughing, the Strymon delay *almost* has a much control over the taps as the 25 year old Quadraverb+.

Almost.

In a video interview with Sonic State, a Waldorf rep confirmed that the Kassettenspieler is not in-development. I was looking forward to that more than any other product at NAMM.

There were previous rumors circulating that Waldorf was working on a tabletop version of their Zarenbourg (digital electric piano). With the $4K pricetag of the Zarenbourg, it would certainly seem unconscionable to shrink it into a $399 module, so I didn't really put too much stock in that. However a tabletop 'Tron on the heels of the Streichfett didn't seem that far-fetched. Oh well, I guess I'll just have to hold out for someone else to make a tabletop Tron.

I've been telling myself not to think of it as a hoax, but instead a gentle push for Waldorf to start actually developing this. It's weird, but if you go back and scroll through the forums, you'll find that many recent products were requested by fans long before they hit the trade show floors. The Zvex Eurorack Junky was on one of the boards a year or two ago. The ideas in the Chass Bliss MKII stuff came about from user feedback. The VB-2w comes from user demand. Those are just a few examples off the top of my head. So hopefully Waldorf will see the forum feedback and start developing another nice tabletop unit.

They're going for the 1970s stoner vibe hardcore it seems.

In all seriousness I think the Moog people wanted to do something somewhat anti-establishment a couple of years ago, when they started bringing vegetation to the trade shows.

That...or they just really wanted to celebrate Bob's passion for gardening.
