Anyone go from Tremolessence to Flint?

I have a Tremolessence. Amazing pedal but I feel like I would get more use out of something with tap tempo and I've heard nothing but great things about the Flint's verb algossssssss, so that would be an added bonus as I'm currently without a verb pedal.

Has anyone made this switch?? Did you miss the Tremo afterward? BTW, I know I could add an expression pedal to the Tremo and get a bit more functionality so that's always an option, but I feel like I want to make a trade and try the Flint.

The flint has been on my GAS list for a while. I want a new trem badly, been looking at that, the MWFX and the fulltone supa trem. I haven't tried the tremo though, so I can't compare. I really like the flint though, just from trying it in the store.

I didn't know how much I love trem+reverb until I put trem back on my board.

Another option - I keep the Tremolessence and add a Bitquest for reverb and all out weirdness! Thoughts?

That would be cool definitely. I would recommend most people to try a bitquest out. But it doesn't really solve your tap tempo problem that you stated in your first post?

I have a tremolessence and an Empress tremolo on my board. I only use the tap on the empress for square wave hard chop stuff. Everything else I tend to use the Tremolessence for. I love the way you can push the wave in either direction with the shape, and I really like just finding a generally nice tempo and having it just kinda co-exist with whatever tempo the song is written in.

Depending on how you use your Tremolessence I think you'll get more mileage out of a Bitquest+trem combo than the Flint.

And the ring mod on the BQ goes slow enough that you can have dual trems. Which is the best.

I've seen this come up quite a bit, and responded more than a few times. I'll throw it in again though, at the risk of sounding redundant—the Flint's tremolo is amazing, and the 70s/80s reverbs are fun. I wasn't impressed with the spring, which is why I sold mine. Overall I think it's a pretty solid pedal, though—just depends on what you're wanting out of it.

I'll be able to tell you more specifically what I think once I get my Tremolessence. But getting a Bitquest should be a no brainer really (I love mine!), for madness, for fun or just super nice reverb. Also, I'm not a big strymon fan. I mean, they sound good, but I think they're overrated. So get a Bitquest. I'll be telling you the same thing again once I get my Tremolessence. So yeah, get a bitquest.

I don't think of the two as being really even remotely related, but as far as bang for buck and fun, I'd 100% go with a Bitquest over a Flint.

(Clarification: I agree with them not being that similar, but just really want to push for a Bitquest, unless you didn't notice)

I've been inseparable from my Flint since I got it. It was one of the only ways to get harmonic trem when I got it and the verb sounds are incredible. And where I have a very small board it save me space. I think the only thing I wouldn't like about a bitquest is there's just so many options that I'd want 2 and I'm not made of money.

I'm only talking out of gas here, but I've wanted a flint for like two years. BQ has never really appealed to me a ton bc i would have to settle on 1 favorite sound for live use, and the rest would just sit there taunting me to change settings. Reverb and trem together are amazing and having pretty great versions of each in one pedal is bee knees.

Honestly that's part of the reason I sold my BQ. I was so tired of constantly changing what spot it was in to use it's different settings. It's Dr. Scientist's fault that he shipped the pedal out with every mode being very usable.
