I've never fondled an effectrode switch. Lastgasp are nice and supple with just a hint of click.

If anyone does get one of those built or is looking to go in on a batch or some shit, do contact me.
That was fucking DREAMY.
Would definitely order reissue, with complete disregard to my finances.
Swank demo UG. Thanks man!

thanks
yeah sorry dibbers but this is a keeper
the engage knob really brings the incredible, and yeah i agree lastgasp stomp is best stomp
am going to a/b the 45 and 46 and will probably record that, for science

Re: UG demos LAL Super Fuzz 45/Sooper Fuzz 46 comparison
aaaaand here is a listen to how the Lastgasp Art Laboratories Super Fuzz 45 compares to the Sooper Fuzz 46. Turns out there are more differences than similarities. Misty Cave makes an appearance towards the end addin some additional flavor. Also in this go around I used an ev 666 on the cab instead of the rolled off we 633a i used in the 45 demo, so you get to maybe hear more high end along with them coveted devil tones

UG, does the 46 have more bottom end? Or is that just my ears and these crap headphones over the youtube?

Re: UG demos LAL Super/Sooper Fuzz comparison, Devil Tail
ummm, i'll double check but i wanna say with the toggle up(mid boosted mode 1) on the 46, the 45 seems to have more bass output but with the toggle down(mid cut mode 2) the 46 seems to have more bass. overall i think the 45 is fuller throughout the whole frequency range, and that probably has to do with the boost/cut of the 46. they are pretty identical in regards to octave up behavior/sounds, and they both have similar artifacts like that ripping sound but the 46 is a little more noisy with the artifacts kinda just happening sometimes where the 45 its more controllable with your playing dynamics, or maybe it only happens during note decay with the 45. the 46 has that "goes to 11" range on the gain knob that pushes it into oscillation which has a different characteristic/pitch in each mode, both being different from how the 45 feeds back with the expand knob dimed. 46 might also have an overall brighter sound to it, but that might just be in mode 1. i wanna say the 46 sounds smoother too, if that makes sense.

Re: UG demos LAL Super/Sooper Fuzz comparison, Devil Tail
Yeah I totally get you on the smoothness.
Awesome thanks man.
Yeah I kind of figured the 45 was a bit more utilitarian, whereas the 46 gets a little more wild.
I like those sort of oscillating type artefacts on decay, but not all the time, I don't want to feel like I'm wrestling it for control of that makes sense? I kind of want those things to be like nice little footnotes in the riff, I guess.
Again though, I don't play noise based sort of stuff.Total horses for courses thing.
Thanks for the shootout and comparison dude!

Re: UG demos LAL Super/Sooper Fuzz comparison, Devil Tail
glad they were helpful
like all of his pedals they both sound incredible and are well suited for noisy experimentation indeed. From comparing the 45/46 and SPK/SPK jr his older pedals are less extreme sounding....compared to other pedal builders offerings the old LAL push the boundaries already, but it seems with the newer pedals like maybe he took the old circuits and pushed the edges outward even further into oscillation etc. which also shifted the overall tonal signature into a little more aggressive/harsh sounding balance in the process, maybe.
now that i think of it i should do an a/b of the SPK's.

Yeah it's definitely going beyond just being a fuzz with each incarnation.
Yes. More shootouts is good shootouts.

Re: UG demos Lastgasp Art Laboratories Sick Pitch King vs Jr
Hey hey, here is a look at how the Lastgasp Art Laboratories Sick Pitch King compares to the Sick Pitch King Jr. Should be pretty obvious what the differences are, but maybe not so...SPK has volume knob and frequency knob with a toggle for HI/LOW speed range. SPK Jr. has wet/dry blend knob and frequency knob, oscillator on/off togge, and a smooth/stepped frequency shape toggle. Both pedals have cv input for controlling freq, SPK has direct out and carrier in input. Otherwise i tried my best to match the frequency between the two to show the similarities/differences of the sound between the two. Obviously both on at the same time is the winner.

no but it looks pretty incredible. never really got into sampling, these microgrannys are my first samplers and they are a TON of fun. i just got notice that my gotharman deformer granular sampler shipped too. looks like samplers might be something i'll get into, down the road anyways

Re: UG demos LAL Super Fuzz 45/Sooper Fuzz 46 comparison
I played around with 45/46 some more using different amps/cabs, turns out the OR15H has a pretty loose bottom end on it. I came to the conclusion that the 45 and 46 in mode 1 are identical as far as lows go, and I'm pretty certain mode 2 is the same too. The notched mids of mode 2 results in an overall different presentation, and I think the treble energy blends more with the lows in mode 2 and maybe makes them seem more prominent...but the frequency response, i'm pretty sure, are all the same. With the gain turned up past 10 on the 46, there is a pretty radical departure from the 45's character in both modes, and maybe the lows get boosted here and there with little peaks and valleys that happen sorta at random but its pretty hard to tell if the bass is getting boosted or if its just the mids/highs getting thinIommic Pope wrote:
