Re: Unpopular album opinions

I figured "Unpopular album opinions" would be the one place my TREXOPINIONS would be accepted, or at least tolerated. JESUS CHRIST! :picard: :picard: :picard:
Ain't changin' for no 1, tho. Dandy in the Underworld's my shit. I mean, early T. Rex is great, but there's so much more to Marc/T. Rex than that.

The pixie-folk Tyrannosaurs Rex albums are mostly really naive and silly, while the late albums are totally coked out and weirdly eccentric, but these characteristics are part of their charm! Man was not made to subsist on three T. Rex albums alone!

MBV as in "m b v"? I can't say I agree... but I definitely do love ye olde MBV (-all but the last track of This Is Your Bloody Valentine and Man You Love to Hate, because they're both super-mediocre) and Isn't Anything a lot more than Loveless, even if I really like Loveless... Much like pre/post Electric Warrior/The Slider T. Rex, I'm sure it's somewhat fueled by indignation over the lack of RESPEK/attention the pre-Loveless MBV gets, but I still don't get tired of listening to The New Record by MBV or Sunny Sundae Smile.

Sometimes, I just wanna say "SHUT THE FUCK UP ABOUT LOVELESS AND LISTEN TO THIS FLAWLESS INDIE-POP GOLD!"
I'm drunk on a Wednesday morn, if that weren't obvious. I stand by all of the above statements though.

I made the same Sunny Sundae Smile comment, and I don't think I was drunk.

WHAT ABOUT STRAWBERRY SWITCHBLADE THOUGH?

Late T. Rex > Early T. Rex (The Slider on) in general.

I jest. My ex insisted folk era Tyrannosaurus Rex was better than early glam T Rex. Also wrong.
I actually LOVE the early Tyrannosaurus Rex records, particularly A Beard of Stars. Devendra Banhart wouldn't have a career if it weren't for those albums, IMHO.

Probably true, but I never cared too much for him either.

Dandy In The Underworld does have one of my favorite T.Rex songs on it, but iave a super nostalgized association of listening to Electric Warrior and The Slider in the print shop as I etched zinc plates and breathed in terrible fumes.

I really dont care for any of the popular alternative music that came out in the 90s (aside from Radiohead and some Smashing Pumpkins). Nirvana, Foo Fighters, RATM, Pearl Jam, RHCP, Faith No More, Beastie Boys, Beck, NIN, Alice In Chains, Weezer etc? Not interested at all.
