I understand there's an Anderton circuit that is supposed to collect the envelope of a signal and output for use with other effects. I'd find this very useful to control delays and tremolos, etc.
Does anyone make a standalone envelope follower pedal?
I guess PAiA sells a kit for the Anderton circuit: http://www.paia.com/proddetail.asp?prod=CA-25&cat=14

Re: Envelope Follower Pedal?
I have found that a cheap workaround is to tape an LFR (photoeye...in this case wired to a jack or cord) to a flashing gain pot that changes color and stuff....like on the moog pedals. Works pretty well for stuff like the cyber psychic.
There was another crazy one from Anderton that was part of a newsletter too...it was way more complex.
Another option is to take the env LED driver from a Mu-Tron III type circuit and then just LDR that thing as a CV out (maybe find a cheap clone and then split open the coupler and stick another photoeye in there and seal it somehow...but with this you'll probably need to run separate, parallel lines to get it so that you don't have an env-filter in the signal all the time or something...kind of dead end it there).
FreqBox and MF101 have an env outputs too (but they don't work with EXP kinda stuff...just 0-5v CV...but you could adapt them to drive LEDs and the LDR that in like a cord coupling way).

Or just go digital.
I can envelope control *any* parameter on any effect in the Boss GT-100/001.
It is a glorious, glorious thing.

Yeah, the Line 6 M stuff had some envelope control but I'd like something simple that I could incorporate into a setup using pedals that actually sound good.

inserting them into eachother both ways is pretty cool none the less.bigchiefbc wrote:The Moogerfooger LPF and the Freqbox both have Env out jacks where it outputs it as a CV. Not sure if that's exactly what you're looking for.

Re: Envelope Follower Pedal?
A quick and dirty example of what I was talking about. I used the Moog MF102 for the input LED, the LAL Sandstrorm for the envelope LED (and mixed out the noise), and the LFO LED on the Misty Cave to control the Delay Time on the Misty Cave. The high pitched squeal is either because I used alligator clips, ambient light, or because I didn't connect all three connections on the TRS jack. I just tried to show that for $0.19 and about a minute, envelope control can be had (a mixer or something with a better LED envelope representation would work better...like the Seppuku Memory Loss LEDs get brighter the harder you hit...the two I was using were more on/off (the moog having a 3rd state of red at OL).
