Re: So this is random but...
There have been tv shows where 22- to 30-year-olds play high schoolers for about 20+ years now, so I imagine our perspective is a little distorted.

D. I was so having this conversation with someone the other day... Girls DID NOT dress or look like they do now when we were in High/Middle school... they were all shy and reserved, now they all dress provocative and shit. Man, I miss the old days, bring back the extra baggy t-shirts and jeans man, thems were the days!

There's also the idea that we know more about health now. Right now it seems the basic goal society puts on us is to look young and not old.

Re: So this is random but...
i think it has to do with styles and fashion.
15yr olds back in the '80's had 80s haircuts. 25yr olds back in the 90's still had '80s haircuts. 35yrs old still have those haircuts.
so looking at those older yearbooks makes it seem like everyone in the 80's already looks 35.
right? what i'm saying makes some sort of sense i think.

I don't know many 35-year olds with an 80s haircut. You'd need more hair than many men have at that age. (Speaking for myself here... I can't grow no Kurt Cobain hair no more...)
But I do think that there are various reasons for this:
health care
fitness freaks
plastic surgery
a general stance that one has to be young to be successful/great/whatever

Yeah, it's that we associate older style with older people. Just like I'd look at photos of teens from the '50s and think they look old but '70s teens don't look so old to me.
Now why are todays teen A&F models more physically developed than I ever will be?
