Is diy an option?

-cover the body in thin paper, like tracing paper.
-peel the paper off a crayon and lay it flat, and rub it all over. The edges of the cavities will be darker giving you a template. Outline your outside edge, cut it out, make sure the cavities line up and the edges are where you want them.
-tape this onto your guard material. Trace the outlines of the edge and the cavities, use a coping saw and cut it out.

If you lived closer, or felt like shipping me the body, guard material, I'd totally do it for you. Buuuut I kind don't think you wanna do that. But without an existing guard to replicate, you have to have the body to make sure it fits properly.

God. I knew this guy was going to give me one last headache before it was all over with.

As you can see, I definitely need a pickguard.

Would a regualar jazzmaster guard cover that route? It's not what I wanted to go with but it might be necessary.

Edit: meant to respond Cyan.

I don't know if diy is really an option. I don't have the tools to cut the guard properly. I might try to figure something out though. I'm ready to have this thing done!

You *could* use a regular telecaster guard, and just reshape the section where it would go on a tele's lower horn. Because that would definitely cover there route, and line up with the neck pocket and where the tele control plate goes.

As for tools, a coping or jewelers saw is like.. $10? Just go slow. That, and sandpaper to clean up the cuts and give a bevel. Also, a drill to start the hole for the pickup cavity and screw holes. I have faith in you!

Body was off getting fitted for a Pickguard. Should be back tomorrow and I'll post a shot. I haven't ordered the bridge or hardware or anything yet because I wanted to make sure the curse didn't strike again or anything.

I'd go with a transparent pickguard on this <3

If it weren't for that weird little route under the neck pickup I would have done that. I got a matte black guard.

This might be done next week. I'll post some pics soon!

Been slacking

I know for your purposes it wasn't desired, but just FYI the weird little route is a variation of the standard route for vintage style telecasters. Dude was probably following a template that had it that way, or just assumed you'd want old school telecaster routing for a telemaster build :idk:

If mine gets done before this I'm not sure if I can still love you bb.

I can't believe this has taken so long. Jesus fuck.

Final order has been made.

I have to drill all the holes for the Pickguard, humbucker ring, and control plate. And the straplocks. Then wire it all up. I should be able to get it all done in one day. I hope I don't fuck up the drilling.
