First albums

Post by Invisible Man »

Cassette: Hootie and Blowfish. Cracked rear view. Fuck you.

CD: Alanis Morissette. Jagged Little Pill. Not ashamed at all.

Illegal download: Relationship of Command. Made big strides in those four years.

I don't remember, but I think Blows Their Load is a good name for a first album.

Whoops, didn't realize you meant my first albums. Shit, some Mickey Mouse, had some compilation that had Puff the Magic Dragon on it, and other stuff. All on vinyl 'cause I'm an old man.

Yeah, I was gonna say no one is cool enough to have bad brains be their first record.

Xmas 97

What's the Story Morning Glory
Mellon Collie &the Infinite Sadness.

There was a fair amount of shit in those first two years, but after Napster in 99 things got a lot better.
Also there was a funky independent music store in my tiny rural town that got everything Relapse Records were releasing at the time, which was a big influence on where my tastes went.

I'm old enough that I started on LPs.

LPs: Christmas '86 I got Run DMC Raising Hell and Weird Al Dare to be Stupid
I'm actually pretty f'ing proud of those two.

Cassette: Christmas '87 I got Guns n Roses Appetite for Destruction

CD: My 12th birthday I got a CD player and went out that day to spend my b-day money. I got White Zombie's La Sexorcisto Devil Music Vol 1 and Nirvana's Nevermind and Bleach
