If you really want to do this, get a Squier Bronco Bass instead. They're cheap used (I got mine for $50) and you can just drop a normal Musicmaster bridge (I think it's the MM, if not it's the Toronado bridge) in place of the 4-string bass bridge. Oh and Bronco already has a 6-string Strat pickup in it (I dunno if the bucker in the MWMB is 4-pole or not).

You still have to fill and redrill the tuner holes and replace the nut, but it should come out for way less than buying the 'Stang bass, even used.

I've got a Squier VI on its way right now. I've been resisting the urge to get one for quite a while, but nearly EVERY review for these is super positive, so I figure I can't go wrong (esp with a 20% discount i had). I've got a .105 gauge 6th coming with it.

Planning to tune to drop D and will evaluate how C may work when it gets here. I will try CGDGCD as well (among other tunings), but I'm guessing I'll have to increase size on the 5th as well (.80 or .85).

Also got it in black. You know, for rock purposes.

Has anyone gotten a Rhoney VI hardtail plate for theirs? Any thoughts? If i end up not using the trem much, I might go for that.

I play in Drop C# with .110 on the low and a .106 set for the rest and it's pretty good tension wise. I've been curious about other tunings too but don't really want to fuck with setting it back up

Is there a "Let's see your BASS VI rig" thread?

I'm interested in what pedals and amps you guys are using.

Played this board for a while now in iRerror, and it has been treating me well.
