Re: Scott Weiland died?!?!
6. Whoever invented it, whatever you want to call it, all I'm saying is, that vocal technique is literally the worst sound ever created by mankind
And Pearl Jam are responsible for the largest body of questionable rock music in the history of rock music, and STP was the first in the chain that produced Creed, Theory of a Deadman, Nickelback, Staind, 3 Doors Down, and a dozen similar acts of dubious quality, all united by the fact that they stuffed their mouths full of cotton- and/or mothballs before taking to the stage
You guys are allowed to like it and I am allowed to not like it
After all, all pop-punk vocalists sound essentially the same, and I can't get enough pop-punk
One man's trash, etc.

Re: Scott Weiland died?!?!
I read an article that called it "yarling" and thought that was a pretty fitting description.casecandy wrote:6. Whoever invented it, whatever you want to call it, all I'm saying is, that vocal technique is literally the worst sound ever created by mankind
Sounds to me like Cher was the original "yarler". Listen to "Turn Back Time" and tell me otherwise.
Or don't subject yourself to that and just trust your friendly, local homosexual.

at least six points. Jesus. And you read them?
I think maybe you could point to Iron Butterfly as the origin point.

But Weiland eventually gave up the yarl. Maybe crack is the cure for the yarl?

That article is right on. There's always a part of me that says--however ungenerous--there's another dead junkie. He left a trail of destruction in his wake, and I wonder if that'll exceed the impact of the music he made. I honestly don't know, but reading shit like what his wife has to say makes me grateful...

I kind of hate the part of myself that just wants to say to her: "What did you expect?"Invisible Man wrote:That article is right on.
