I am a baker at a restaurant. By far one of the best jobs I ever had, but super stressful. Everything is really a time crunch. But it's legal, doesn't involve literally touching shit, and doesn't require me to be alone in an elevator or up on a ladder, soooo I'm movin up in the world.

That is my fantasy 'escape'' job. Like when I hate my life, I think 'shoulda been a baker.' and then I hear it's actually pretty difficult. Let's throw some coins in a magic fountain and switch for a day, just for the heck of it.

Having spent the actual majority of my life doing contracting, handiwork, house painting, and landscaping work, I figured baking would be easier on my back, neck, and shoulders, and the unfortunate reality is "not much." But I do kinda love it.

Yes. My body is pretty fucked for many reasons, and I really do hurt myself baking, but when my dough turns out good, or I can look at some muffins or whatever that I made with my hands, it feels really satisfying. I hate jobs, so I try to remind myself that at least baking has applications for the rest of my life. For the first time in many years my only band is not a crust band, though.
