Question for Teej212 or anyone that has an AARP or that's been on the tour-

Is it just me, just the nature of pitchshifters, or the nature of the AARP circuit, but it seems like the more noticeable if not extreme sounds - those huge max headroomy swales - are only happening at high pitches? Any way/settings/suggestions to get more of that happening on lower freq action?

I've only ever had one pitch shifter that did full octaves before and that was the whammy. When I played the octave up it always seemed louder than the octave down. I'm still in the process of studying physics and i could be very wrong on this but I believe there is a relation between perceived volume and pitch.

Maybe a compressor after the aarp would help some but I have no way of testing that at the moment!

Yup, and it depends on what volume you listen at. look up A, B, and C weighting to see an actual graph of the human ear's perceived response to different frequencies.

"A-WEIGHTING

Follows the frequency sensitivity of the human ear at low levels. This is the most commonly used weighting scale, as it also predicts quite well the damage risk of the ear. Sound level meters set to the A-weighting scale will filter out much of the low-frequency noise they measure, similar to the response of the human ear. Noise measurements made with the A-weighting scale are designated dBA.

B-WEIGHTING

Follows the frequency sensitivity of the human ear at moderate levels, used in the past for predicting performance of loudspeakers and stereos, but not industrial noise.

C-WEIGHTING

Follows the frequency sensitivity of the human ear at very high noise levels. The C-weighting scale is quite flat, and therefore includes much more of the low-frequency range of sounds than the A and B scales." source
