I play mine through an Acoustic 50 bass amp. But the best amp for a Bass VI is obviously the Science Mother.

Have a YBA1 + SVT410 waiting for a cheap Bass VI in white color.

Regular Bass sounds freaking goo)))d.

I have an AC30 style head that sounds mad through my slightly too big 212. The lows are there, but some boost helped a lot too.
I havent tried it for fuckin ages either so your results may vary

it's a different sound to the low lows you can get with a bass amp and you might need to use the bass cut switch but it's a sound i really like. fits into band mixes nicely IMO.
