I did not realize how intense the guts of these were (just opened my pd7). Gotta think on this one a bit

In the $80-120 range, I'd look into the Aqua Puss, Echo Puss, Malekko 616, or the new Modtone.

I don't think the DE7 sounds like an analogue delay. It sounds like a really clean digital delay with some nice distortion and stuff on the echo mode. It's got quite a unique sound I think. It doesn't chirp or have the massive bandwidth loss of an analogue delay.

Yeah goroth is right. That distortion at the end is what I love about the de7. That, and the ability to do near infinite repeats before it oscillates.

I'm not sure of anything else that does that. Though I just saw this video that seems similar. Can't tell if it's distorting. Jump to 2:00.

I wish I could get this thing rehoused but I doubt anyone will do it. I wouldn't even care if it ended up in a bigger enclosure as long as the switch and pots were more sturdy. JHS offers it but fuck JHS and fuck $150 to rehouse a pedal.
Maybe post some gut shots? I've rehoused stuff, it's not hard (usually). We could probably walk through it if we get some photos.
The most merciful thing in the world, I think, is the inability of the human mind to correlate all its contents.

A *lot* of the older digitals will do near infinite non-oscillation stuff.

My Boss multis from the early days I still have on hand (ME-6B, ME-10) will do that all day long, the 6B if set to max will make a pad that goes with nothing else fed into it for 10+ minutes.

Haven't finished taking my pd7 apart, but these won't fit in a 125b. Maybe a 1590bb, though I think depth may be an issue. Will report back.

I've rehoused one of these! I put it in a big ugly electrical box for some reason, with new jacks and footswitch. I kept the original pots and toggle switches to make it an easier job. All in all it was definitely not an experience I would want to go through again! The horror! (That's probably what most people would say if they saw the inside of it too).

It works great though and it's still on my pedalboard. One of these days I'll take some pics

Honestly thinking about snatching up skully's broken univox tape delay, but the more I read about them the more it seems they aren't so reliable either. :(

I played with de-7 briefly a long time ago and really liked the echo mode. Then I randomly found one at a garage sale last year for $5 so of course I bought it. Then I went home and put it somewhere weird in my house. I have to dig it up in my closet. But if there was a group buy rehouse, I would probably get in on it.

Maybe a groupbuy rehouse will motivate Jero to make our dreams come true. DE7 forever!

What would be the details of a group buy in your eyes?

I'm looking at enclosure options, and planning potential layouts a little bit. Is there a general consensus on preferred layout? Top or side jacks? The controls set up like they are currently, for the most part? Keep in mind things like jacks, switches, and pots will likely be replaced, if not definitely.
