Best Klone and/or best for the money? Don't judge me!

Post by casecandy »

I swear I'm not a blues lawyer... I just bought a Hyper Fuzz, lay off me

Actually I'm a huge fan of Ian D'Sa's playing in Billy Talent (you are too, you just don't know it) and even though they're a post-hardcore/pop-punk band, he does like himself the blues lawyery gear (Strats, boutique amps, Z. Vex, and an actual Klon Centaur)

I sortof wanna try out a Klon-type pedal but don't want to pay for something I might end up thinking is kind of lame

I hear J. Rockett Archer and EHX Soul Food are great pedals, what would you guys recommend?

The Arc Effects Klone seems like a good choice and I know Chank agrees.

Why not just get a KTR? Are they not more available now?

The Arc Effects definitely gets good reviews. The Archer is also super popular, but there definitely seems to be quite a bit of ethical ickiness there that I can't claim to know enough about. Probably worth looking into if you're considering that one.

I have a silver Centaur I bought from Finnegan back in the early 00s—despite the fact that its reputation has been most certainly tainted by insufferable Timmy-stacker dweebs, it's a damn fine overdrive. But then again, there are multitudes of other options out there.

Thanks, guys, not sure why my name comes up when someone mentions Klon though. :whateva:

Yeah, the ARC Klone is the one I've been using. It certainly sounds good enough for me.

The klone that skully built off a Madbean board may actually be a little more accurate. :idk:

Which klone is best sort of depends on how you're gonna use it though, casecandy.

I recommend everybody get one of these enclosures and build whatever circuit they want in it (and get rid of those white knobs too):

(Also, I had no idea that's what UG looked like.)

A street from my hometown...and proof that they have governmental connections...

Also, Earl Warren is from there...so I assume Obama wanted to side with the most influential entertainers in the political spectrum.

Buck Owens influenced the Beatles...and they influenced Crass and modern DIY...See the ties?

Also, it is where Clint took his Orangutan...power is where power lies.

As speculated by some ancient astronaut theorists.
