I don't think the OP is coming back.

OP delivers! Or not...

I am indeed back, hopefully better late than never applies. Lead-up to Thanksgiving was huge crunch time at work, between that and the familial drama of the holiday itself I haven't made it back for an update.

Señor Nelson, i appreciate the aesthetic you've hit with those guitars, but it just isn't for me. Reminiscent of a guitar I owned in the 80s that dated from late 60s or early 70s, had a very similar control plate. Your builds look well executed, and they check the spec boxes, but just not that magic love at first sight intangible that I need in the price range.

So I did end up finding a smoking deal on a Reverend Sensei. Red, has humbuckers, and if the bass contour isn't enough to bring them in line it's an easy swap. Neck is respectably chunky, maybe not ideally chunky. Not prepared to call it love at first sight, but I'm definitely prepared to hit it repeatedly. Good enough deal that if the neck still isn't big enough, I can flip it without taking much of a loss. @repoman: the set neck Reverends I've fingered tend to be a little different from the bolt-ons.

Plan B: if the Sensei doesn't work out, I located an unfinished tele body in my garage that'll take a Warmoth "big-ass" neck and some spare hardware I've accumulated. A little chisel work and tru-oil and it'll be aces for a test platform.

Plan C: plug the sound hole on my acoustic and do the full Kim Deal into a Marshall.

Will see how it goes and report back in a week or so...
