I prefer it to Bitches Brew, too. I heard BB first, and probably like a lot of people, it was one of my first real intros to out music. John McLaughlin's playing on that album... oy, I have no way to even describe how I feel about it. Obviously that's just a small ingredient—the whole thing's so much more than the sum of its parts.
On a separate note/to keep the ball rolling, Don Cherry's Brown Rice is one I was just introduced to recently and have been loving.

This isn't quite fusion either, but it's nice:

Return to Forever, Weather Report, and especially Mahavisnu Orchestra are all amazing. My dad is a jazz drummer and a total fusion head, so I was pretty much raised on that stuff.
I think my personal favorite album in this vein is Miles Davis On the Corner. Most everything from that Davis era was like Kevin Federline level HOT FIRE.
Some of Billy Cobham's early stuff was good too. Like Spectrum, with Tommy Bolin on guitar making laser noises with an early delay pedal.
Yeah, early fusion was pretty fantastic. Seemed to quickly devolve into muzak though, unfortunately.

Looked him up and learned that he was born in a teeny tiny town in SC called Ninety-Six.
My brother in law is also from there. So random.

That is kinda random.
Odean was in this band (not exactly fusion, but not too far off):

This is as close as I will get to fusion [I like Jazz and I LOVE free jazz but fusion..]
To me most of the poppier fusion all sounds like Village of the sun off this album.. as well as every single song steely Dan ever "wrote"

Re: Any one here likes jazz fusion?
I think it helps that Zappa usually had a lot of esentially jazz musicians playing with him.
