I love these new echo projects. And I get why the pricing is what it is. But every time I see the dollars, I think to myself "This is more than I paid for a Space Echo".

+1. crazy how prices change. i landed my 201 for $400, but it was like 10 years ago.

replicator - one different thing about it is the tapes not looping. and would have to remember to rewind!

In terms of the Space Case vs Space Echo I think the cost is justified. Space Echo has more pattern options and the benefit of reverb.

Space Case has:

- VARIABLE HIGH PASS FILTER -
- OPAMP OVERDRIVE CIRCUIT -
-SPEAKER / LINE OUT SWITCH -
- INDEPENDENT ECHO LEVEL AND DRY LEVEL -
- INSERT PATCH POINT/JACK FOR EXTERNAL PROCESSING-
- 6 TIME RANGES AND VARIABLE TIME -
- PRE / POST FEEDBACK DESTINATION -
– VARIABLE FIDELITY –
- EASY MAINTENANCE (JUST SWITCH OUT TAPE WHICH ALLOWS FOR DIFFERENT TONES AS WELL) -
- XLR MIC LEVEL OUT -
- DI -
- HI-Z -
- SMALL ENCLOSURE AND OPTIONAL PEDAL -

I'm a big proponent for Space Echo and own one myself... but so much thought and care went into making these and it shows in the build, the sound and the options. They sound uniquely different IMO and i'm glad to own both.

I just know I'd eventually get fed up having this delicate and cumbersome box lying around that only did tape echo and didn't also make toast or heat soup.

I'm sure a toast mod is right around the corner...

By the way, I meant the T Rex thingy. Joking aside, I actually think the Space Case looks amazing. Love the fact it uses cassettes.

Ruiner, thanks very much for posting this!!!

Space Case using off-the-shelf tapes is the real selling factor, IMO. Proprietary tapes from T-Rex or Fulltone are a huge hidden cost.
