I just read this entire thread and I think we should make a drinking game where you drink every time casecandy mentions Hungry Robot.

"Thirsty Robot," an ILF drinking game.
I just really want my meteore to show up! I dreamed all day at work about which reverb I want before dirt and which after. I originally planned on flipping whichever of this or my RRR I preferred less, now I want both!

Everybody on ILF has a company they really go to bat for, I'm sure of it! I just fucking love their pedals.karmablock wrote:I just read this entire thread and I think we should make a drinking game where you drink every time casecandy mentions Hungry Robot.
The drinking game sounds really fun!
In my family we watch It's A Wonderful Life and everytime anyone in the movie says the surname "Bailey," you take a shot of Baileys.
There's, uh... there's a lotta milk in Baileys.

In the SNAMM video he seems to mention that it does use the Belton brick but in a different way than normal?skullservant wrote:Does anyone know if this is brick verb or something else? I listened to the demo the other day and it sounded pretty good. Curious if it uses that new Belton brick or not. I know with that brick you can control decay time, tone, boost is a resistance thing, and mix.

I always overlooked Caroline because I thought they were a TGP type brand. They do have some awesome sounding stuff I'd like to try and the dude seems cool in all the videos.

Definitely way more interesting than typical TGP fare, but also not as weirdo as a lot of the stuff that gets the most love on here. With that in mind, I'd say it leans much more into the fun/weird territory than same ol' shit.zeravla wrote:I always overlooked Caroline because I thought they were a TGP type brand. I still want a Wave Cannon. Could also go for a Kilobyte. And yep, Philipe seems awesome (I esp like some of the stuff he's written for PG).

Re: Caroline Meteore
Caroline Guitar Company and its builders, Phillippe being the head of which, is and are amazing. Their pedals are straight forward and sound amazing. They offer incredible service and are very accepting of criticism and feedback. I bought a v1 wavecannon years ago and it is the most versatile gain pedal I've ever used. My wife got me a top tier Kickstarter reward for my birthday when they released kilobyte and I love that pedal almost more than her. We are talking about a guy who started with one pedal and has slowly and meticulously built a company that is backed by originality and quality, something that a lot of producers, both Christian or otherwise, just flat out don't fucking have. I started reading this thread hoping to come upon some worthwhile reviews of a pedal I want by players I can respect and relate to and all I found was a bunch of bullshit.
Has anyone played the pedal and is it dope or not?
Fuck.

At a guess I'd say it's straightforward and sounds amazing.
See posts 7 and 8 on the first page for more info/confirmation.
Other than that it hasn't really seen wide release yet so I'd be surprised if anyone else has direct experience of it.

Re: Caroline Meteore
It's awesome.
I'll have a demo of it done in a couple weeks.
One thing that really stuck out to me after a few jams is that Caroline really spent a lot of time on the core sound of the reverb. It's natural to judge a pedal by its features, but that is only half of what makes a pedal special.
Also, I love momentary everything and the Havoc switch is pretty versatile. It can do swells / runaway oscillations, but it can also be used to create and hold a sound beneath your playing.
And all of the controls are really interactive.
THERE YA GO
