Some amazing guitarits used Klons in the 90s, one of my favourites being Lee Ranaldo. They're really excellent clean boosts/overdrives. I just don't understand how it goes from that to suddenly being worth thousands, though. Who determines these things?

Thank God the PLL wasn't on that list.

People are willing to pay it.

I'm just as mystified at people paying real money for Silvertone amps, or Teisco guitars...or...

My pedalboard costs approximately 191 Metal Zones.

This list couldv'e been much much longer. I'm sure they'll do more parts of it to fill space.

Same. Some of them look awesome and I wouldn't mind having one but not at the prices they're going for now.

Pete Cornish stuff is pretty mind boggling. You can read through TGP posts where people say spending 1500 bucks on a wah pedal is 'well worth it.'

He builds stuff for guys like David Gilmour and takes the fanbois for a pretty looooong ride. Stuff looks like electrical conduit box.

Yeah, instead of these 'pedals are now shit because idiots pay too much for them' articles, they should start doing 'biggest swindling pedal bozos' articles instead. :thumb:

I owned a silver klon for a year or two... back when they cost around $500US. I traded it with cash into my '65 LPB jazzmaster, and never looked back. :D

It sounded great! but so do all of my pedals. ;)

Yeah, that's the thing, they're all just pedals.

I think Klons are great. I've played Chankgeez, clones, and made my own. I agree that I think their prices are ridiculous though

That Madbean klone you built sounds great, skully. I was really impressed with it.

I like the mods that I did to it, with the way that I play I think they come in handy with a tad less treble

That'd cost them most of their advertisers.

I read this yesterday and thought it was pretty great.

Pete Cornish stuff is pretty overpriced, but... I respect the man. He was arguably the best guitar tech out there for the biggest rock bands of the 1970s. Brian May's tone is pretty complex, and of course it involves Brian May's hands and homemade Red Special guitar, but a huge part of it was Cornish's treble booster, wah, etc. He literally built May's pedalboards... as in, the board, the pedals, the wiring, all of it, in the '80s.

I would consider buying his treble booster... if money was no object. (Spoiler: money is an object.)

That TES is some fuckin' shit though.
