Writing settings on your pedals

Post by John Matrix »

I'm looking for a pen that I can use to write my settings onto my pedals that is not permanent, but also does not smear easily. Any suggestions?

(Depending on the finish of the pedal) sharpie is easily removable from just about any surface with rubbing alcohol. That's what I use on my amps. Otherwise do what one of the fuzzbreaux geniuses here did (I can't remember who) and cut the little gold star stickers up and use them as little arrows to mark your settings

That was me haha!

I've also taken to putting 1/4 in o-rings under the knobs so they are hard to accidentally move.

This... it seemed silly to me before, but maybe not. Amazon has it, Musicians Friend probably does, your local guitar mall might have it.

Blue gaffer's tape and a Sharpie.
That said, I don't bother to do so often.

This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

Cool guys, thanks for the suggestions. This is mainly so that I can quickly switch between pre-determined settings for different songs during live shows. So unfortunately, just using my ears or taking pics with my phone would not work. That pen looks pretty cool though.

Not technically on a phone for me, but old-school digital camera (same thing effectively) .

Mostly useful in setting up the rack preamp with eighteen dials and a couple switches.
