If you're a bit patient and don't rush, it should be ok Just as with the Souls games, when you die you leave your blood echoes (i.e. souls) on the ground. The difference with this one is that enemies can pick them up (their eyes become all weird) and you need to kill the enemy to get them back in that case. But the main progress is done by unlocking shortcuts, activating bonfires, etc. anyway I think. If you played another one before you should be ok.

For me, other than the amount of loot, so superior to the Souls games. I love the faster pace of the gameplay and the aesthetic of the game as a whole is way more up my alley. It's going to really change the way I play DS3 for sure, no more stupid shields for this guy.
Had zero frustration as far as losing Blood Echoes but there are some tough bosses for sure. The toughest ones (in my experience) are optional though.

..why the hell did these fly under the radar so much? i've had a 2DS since that came out (i like flat handhelds and 3D hurts my eyes) and even though there's some super fun games on 3DS it feels like a toy now. (Project Mirai DX fuckin' rules though) anyone got any particular recommendations for it? i remember tons of people complaining when it came out about there being no good games but there's a ton now, especially since there's no region lock. i semi-purposely keep myself 2-3 years behind on video games in general because shit gets mega cheap and i feel like it's harder for stuff to seem 'dated' nowadays anyway. i mean most of the popular portable games are ports or remakes of N64 or PS2 games etc.

i literally just bought the first one online earlier this evening very hype for that. i haven't played any before but i'd been meaning to cos i was gonna watch the anime but someone told me it sucks and ruins the games or something.
i've been on Arcana Heart 3 today. it's gaudy and stupid and i love it.
yeah i'm not sure i can actually think of anything remotely decent in that realm adapted from a video game.. which Neptunia is the best to start on? there's a whole bunch of different titles and the only one i've seen locally was Producing Perfection and that got panned really hard. i'm probably gonna pick up some games in japan next month to use for language study but i might stick to like platformers and vocaloid rhythm games to ease the learning curve. i'm not sure whether to save P4G for until i can understand it cos the english release is locked in dubs.
I've been playing Rebirth 1 and Rebirth 2 Sisters Generation on Steam. Good good shit.
I'd say just go for Japanese language for learning. It'll suck at ass at first (definitely will depending on your current level), but you'll learn a great amount of vocab and it'll help nail down grammar points. Great way to learn.

I love my Vita, it's totally my Metal Gear and Final Fantasy machine. I've got a couple Persona games that I never finished.
