Complaining about ISIS's guitar tone is like complaining about Pelican's drummer. Even the fact that you're doing it suggests you missed part of the band's appeal.

Here's one that'll get me stoned round these parts.
I like the Ocean more than Isis, and I think the Ocean's newer albums are better than their old shit.

The Process is the best Skinny Puppy album, followed by Last Rights.
Rollins Band was better than Black Flag.
Soul Crusher was the pinnacle of anything Rob Zombie ever did.

I do love Bauhaus but they peaked so fast and never really evolved beyond being morbid goth dudes.
Bowie is everything, and don't you twerps forget it.

I think The Greatest is the greatest when it comes to Cat Power and that Sonic Youth's Rather Ripped is solid all the way through.phantasmagorovich wrote:Chan Marshall shouldn't have sobered up. Everything past Covers Record 1 is garbage.
Sonic Youth did not release one album that is good front to end. That said, NYC Ghosts and Washing Machine are best, the rest clocking in somewhere between fun and horrible. I still love them.
Raw Power is best. (Most people I know irl like the eponymous best, on here Fun House seems to take the cake.)
The first Refused album is the best.

Re: Unpopular album opinions
Here's one, Boris aren't so much an "album band" as they are a "discography band" (a Bowie, if you will). Even if you have a favourite album, or are able to sort out the releases into ones you love and ones you're more meh about, ultimately, what Boris album do you lend an uninitiated friend? They're all so different that it would just leave them with the wrong idea. You'd have to recommend two or three.SPACERITUAL wrote:UglyCasanova wrote:'New Album' is the best Boris album.
False, "noise" is.
Noise really is phenomenal, if too polished. I saw them on that tour and the songs were even better live. "Angel" is one of their best twenty-minute delay-fests.

FALSE you obviously loan them pink and if they dont like it you slash their tires and stop being friends with them.

Unwound's "Challenge for a Civilized Society" has some pretty good songs on it for how much shit it gets.
