Re: Sonuus G2M guitar-to-MIDI converter
I'm considering getting one since I started using Garageband recently and would rather do midi with a guitar or voice than keyboard at least some of the time.

Oh man, if I was actually decent at guitar I would get this so I could have tablature done more easily. I guess I'll just stick to writing everything by ear for now though.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?

I actually bought the bass version of this, the B2M. I am trying it out for the first time tonight. Assuming it works usably well, I'm going to be able to play my Nord Lead with my bass at gigs. The thought of which makes me squeal with glee.

So.... cool.
You must report back on how it goes. It's a categorical imperative!
I'm more like a mids-ist than a bassist.

OK, here's an update. I am very happy. There is almost no latency. If you play cleanly and roll off your tone knob, the tracking is actually pretty good. But if you're not careful to mute strings and avoid pick/fret noise, you'll get warbles here and there. It does go all the way down to B no problem.
Here's a quick vid my buddy took right when I plugged it in. We had a basic arpeggiated patch loaded up on the Nord, and just play a few notes. I also had the bass signal going through a sonic alienator for some fuzz and then both signals went into a mixer.

Pretty good... I just wanna get this for doing pads and such, sounds like it'd be perfect for that.

Oh yeah, it can definitely do big sweeping pads. Slow sustained notes are where this really shines. But fast runs are gonna be glitchy

Glitchy runs are the nature of the beast... unless your spending 1000s of dollars to convert your bass/guitar signal to midi, you can just give up and doing anything gaster than quarter notes. LOL!

Cool stuff man - I can recommend it to bassists now. Your band is sounding tight too - killing in the name of !!!! hadnt heard that song for so long.
Thanks! Yeah, those videos are a cover band that I've been in for quite a few years. That's mostly just to have fun and gig around. I have another band for originals that is way more electronica/synth based.
