Old VOX Wah Wah AC power MOD help

Post by intrepido »

Hi there! I own a very old VOX Wah pedal (see pic of the current version). It doesn't have a n AC plug, so I have to stick in batteries to power it :/
Is there a way to DIY add the AC plug in it? How?
Thanks a lot!!!

How old is your old wah? I ask because that pic is from the foxrox site and you're in Italy. Of course I'm imagining you've got some nice vintage Italian Vox wah and you're thinking about drilling and modding it. In which case don't! Sell it for large amounts of cash and buy a new one with power jack if it's that important to you.
if it's just an older V847 though
Easiest way is to use one of these

Next is to use a kit from Area 51
Good deals done with all these guys

Thanks for the reply! I think I bought that Wah in 78/79 here in Italy and yes, it should be a "fasel one" I guess, but I'm not sure. I borrowed that photo from the web because I didn't have the opportunity to shoot a pic of mine, but I will tomorrow. I use that as a "rehearsal wah", since I've got a Buddha Wah installed on my pedalboard... That little cable is great! Hope to find one somewhere. Thanks again!!!

If it's an 78 Italian Fasel Vox wah, don't drill it please!!!!!
VoodooLab, Godlyke and OneSpot all make those little cables. Cost you less than $5.

Here you go, $3 at MF (but I don't know if they ship to Europe...)

Thanks. I think I'll sell/trade it. I already have a fantastic Budda Wah and I'm fine with it
