I've got a Voodoo Labs PP2+, and love it, but if it got stolen, I probably wouldn't shell out the dough for another one.
1spots are cool. Everyone else in my band seems to run one without any extra noise.

Thanks, I think I just got lucky on timing because the t. rex was on the gc used site and you pointed out the bbe so thanks for that.

Re: One Spot vs. Fancy Power Supply?
Finally sprung for a BBE Supa Charger over the weekend, after making do with a One Spot for years. Really cleaned up a noise problem I was having with my Earthquaker Depths.
It's the stinkiest thing I've ever bought though. Opened up that package and it was like huffing turpentine or formaldehyde or something. Got the device itself mounted under my board, but left the package out on the porch to off-gas.
I didn't realize until I got the damn thing that it can switch to 16V but not 18V, so that's kinda weird. I don't think I've encountered any 16v pedals yet, but I've definitely run into pedals that are supposed to work well at both 9v or 18v. So that kinda sucks. Anyone know any good 16v pedals?

This is a very impressive collection of Roto Toms. That's 21 Roto Toms in all. That is only $33.00 a Roto Tom.

Everyone has covered it. I went from pp2+ to one-spot then back.
Everyone should have a one-spot though, they come in handy.

Sort of an odd choice, I would think the 9-12-18 would be a more logical progression.lost in music wrote: Anyone know any good 16v pedals?
I think 16 volts is a standard voltage tier in capacitors, so it's possible that builders designing around 9 volt circuits would utilize the 16 volt parts to get their safety margin - and over volting to 18 would make that safety margin go away... but that's a terrible idea, you want at least 20% over the top. When in doubt, consult the builder!

Re: One Spot vs. Fancy Power Supply?
I have a Devi era DeviEver Hyperion that never got much love from me. Played with it recently and got MASSIVE HISS; so much that I recorded it and sent it to DeviEver (Dwarftcraft era). Their lovely customer support (super awesome) suggested that I try a different power source, so for shit and giggles I plugged it into a separate outlet on my PP2 and BAM! Quiet as a regular muff. My pp2 is on my pre-board. I want a ISO5 for my post board...

Re: One Spot vs. Fancy Power Supply?
I used to run a one stop and joyo jp-02 and I didn't think I got that much noise, until I started running a dl4 with the jp-02. But my board got stolen so I figured may as well update to the mxr iso brick and things are much quieter. For some rooms and pedals the one stop is fine, but there are certain pedals and rooms where having isolated power is nice to keep things quiet.
I make pedals. They're pretty loud
