And I much prefer Gloss to Whirr, it just seems like a lot of the noise surrounding this is insincere -- because this is Whirr and this is what they do. They're a shitty band that trolls people on the internet, but now they've made fun of a buzz-y band that everyone is getting boners (and lady boners) for so it's a BIG DEAL, even though it's functionally the same as the rest of the shit they more or less made their name pulling.

I mean you can look at it like "straw that broke the camels back" but I'll go back to my earlier point: if they do the same thing with Limp Wrist, they're still peddling garbage with that trashcan of a record label I guarantee it.

Im just a guy that read the tweets, used something other than gut reactions to determine that they were largely nonsensical and generally idiotic. Its like when i hear people at walmart say "[EDITED]". Is it offensive? nah I disagree. I read it in the same way my own thoughts go, being dumb shit heads is fine, albeit boring, if you're punching up but this is just stupid. It's the logical end result of a bunch of shitty kids not realising that other people have it worse than them and there's some things that people feel just aren't cool anymore. I totally don't have a problem with people saying 'there are some things you, as a person that will never experience that, don't get to joke about'.

Does it suck that there are bands like Deafheaven who are actually totally shitty people but for the most part keep it off the internet and make records people still like so won't cop any shit? Sure. But 'punk' has always been a self policing thing, what the hell is wrong with trying to make life a little less shitty for some people?
