They started in the late 2000s I think, but put out their best albums in 2011 and last year. The one from last year is pretty much my favourite doom record, From All Purity.
it's not a bad album, in a generic sort'a way I guess...
LOL I don't know why I love it so much but everybody has that noe band they really go to bat for and errybody else is like
Indian is one of mine? I don't find it generic at all. It speaks to me
Selena hasn't set my world on fire like Demi has. Maybe she needs a better songwriter? Between 'Cool For The Summer' and 'Give Your Heart A Break,' Demi captured my ears this summer.
My force of habit, I am an insect
I have to confess I'm proud as hell of that fact

Same with Sumac, actually.
Thou/The Body is holding up nicely, though.
I'm fine with the Sumac mix. Did Botanist record with Jack Shirley again? I feel like Botanist would be a very interesting band to record/produce/mix, etc.
Thou/The Body was great. Awesome as hell to see live, too. Punishing waves of volume.
The only thing that really bothers me about mixing is when the vocals are buried.
Like most of Fucked Up's records, especially David Comes To Life, are really, really good, save for the distracting fact that the vocals are behind everything else.
You have to strain to hear his voice behind the band and that's just a piss-off. Borderline dealbreaker.

anyway - I have no problem with the mix. I have a problem with the music - I still enjoy the album, but I have much bigger expectation for the second record

These vocals sound buried to you? They sound fine to me...
