I've seen Godspeed live a few times over the years and I always felt their sound was more in their playing techniques than in pedals. I'm fairly certain you could give them a few choice Boss pedals and it'll sound like Godspeed. Those pedals just seem a bit excessive for their palette of sound.

Haha, I know, it was a blasphemous statement to make on a board like this. Just remember seeing them back in the day with fuck all pedals on stage and they sounded the same, if not a bit better to be honest. Just seems a little pointless and impractical to me to have that many pedals on stage. Just more shit that can go wrong. I suppose, at least if one fuzz dies, they have another 149 there as backups ;)

pretty cool :) B:Assmaster and Mastotron get shown on bass, Dave Catching is a total pedalhead and there's a surprising number of Scrutators in the video

Steve Choi of Rx Bandits.
"Threw together this board for rehearsals. Arranged the pedals in the worst and most Twister like ways. "

Oh damn! I used to (still do, I guess) love the Rx Bandits. I forgot they exist. I'll need to look up any recent stuff.

ha yeah that's pretty cool. I just always expect some horns to come in... I still associate that guys voice with the ska stuff of many moons ago.

Yeah, the ska is long gone, but Steve's Jazzmaster is real pretty.

Agreed, the Ocean and the Sun specifically.

Yes. Ocean and the Sun was the best thing they did.

...and the battle begun is amazing. Mandala was really good too, but the new one was kind of boring IMO.
