Good lord, the new Heavy Machine is insanely good. Gonna see if Alan can add a gate knob to my version 1.5 or whatever it is
You would love it! You can use a little to dial out the hiss or a lot for for a more compressed gated fuzz tone.

Got my Decomposer today!! The new look and the new box are rad as shit!!! I'll take a picture of the box. It's a simple box still but I love the alien on it. hah

Also Alan has upped his game in the graphic department here!!!

It has a input and output volume. Alan said it totally changes the pedal. I've owned the older version, so we will see soon!

Oh that's slick

none of this is helping my Mountainking gas. Neither are Phanta's raves about Megalith being super heavy

also I swapped knobbies on my Huge Box II

they are too big to see the labels, but... you know... those are just stickers and it's just volume and filter, so... you know

So after about 15 minutes with it, I can confirm that the addition control makes this pedal COMPLETELY different and in a very, very good way!! Before it was almost too quite for a Mountainking, now you can overdrive the shit out of the circuit with the output, while leaving the input only slightly turned up or do all kinds of funky shit. It's amazing!!!

I'm definitely going to have to make a demo.

Maybe you guys can help me out! I've been eyeing some Mountainking pedals lustfully - mainly, to bring lots of heavies to my guitar tone. Nothing too synth like or gated, but more of a traditional distortion/fuzz tone with a bottom end that can cave in basements. Looking at Mountainking's site, it seems like the Heavy Machine is for me. But I've read some posts (I think) that make it seem like a Megalith is just a Heavy Machine with a "more heavy" feature? If that's the case, I'd rather have the extra options of the Megalith. Any insight?

never tried a heavy machine, but the megalith does sound a bit 'synthy' at times. it can be dialed down to crushing distortion, but it always sounds like a laser imo. that isn't a bad thing

The Heavy Machine and Megalith are not the same although they sound similar in some ways. The biggest difference is in the low end extension, you'll hear it more with a bass than with a guitar but the Megalith adds lows to your signal, the Heavy Machine doesn't. The top end on the Heavy Machine is also a little less "lazery". And I would say the Heavy Machine is a tiny bit more articulate. I've owned both and prefer the Heavy Machine but the Megalith is also awesome. The Megalith will make your jaw drop the first time you play it, but in my use the Heavy Machine works out better.

Thanks for the reply! Though the extra low end of the Megalith sounds appealing, I think the synth/lazeriness means the Heavy Machine may be more my style. Is it still fairly thick/heavy?
