I always want to answer all thread titles posed as questions with one-word answers. In this case, the answer is yes.

Was it Dust (featuring Marky Ramone?):

(Bonus points for one dude being in that band that covered "Brother Louie", steel guitar in hard rock and the Richard Hell connection)
This is definitely it. I also had no clue Marky Ramone was in the band

ha. me too.

i don't get the whole fetishization of the past thing. don't get me wrong, i have shelves of old records that i enjoy listening to, and find inspiration within, but i'm much more interested in making music in the present & moving forward.

I'm also leaning towards troll here, but yes, I have strong ties to this decade.

Meh, I have more important things to say to Julian Cope than trivial arguments over canon.

If I ever met him I'd just be a bumbling fanboy anyway.

Happens every time I meet one of my musical heroes.

You know on Family Guy when Peter meets KISS and he's like, "YOU. ARE. GODS." while they ignore him?

That'd be roughly how it'd go down.
