Or muff-ish distortion/fuzz? Tone thingbobs? Boostamajigs? Magic diodes? Stuff? :snax:

Ridiculous EQ that can go at both extremes. :animal: Footswitchable boost/gainstage, and the option to choose between pre or post if it's a bost. Hopefully something that does not cover half my board.

I have a laundry list of wants/ideas/dreams for a muff circuit,
but the truth is a lot of what I think up really changes the circuit,
where as what gets made is just tweeks on the creators favorite unit.

I guess the only one I'd be willing to share now would be the octave muff.
Upper, plus two lowers, break it out of the circuit before the tone stack return them after so the original signal still retains its muffiness, but then you also have clear octaves coming out too...

Another idea to consider, how about a pseudo parametric eq. based off the existing tone stack.
Again just before the tone stack you can put a resistance mixer and run the signal parallel through 3 different tone stacks, one calculated for more highs, mids, and lows....

I've always wanted to build an 8 band eq with muffs on each band and little blend knobs, but I want an almost immoral amount of tone shaping.

I'd kind want of a more balanced/central voiced Muff. They either have waay too much of a Shrill high end or super bassy lowend and i'm not sure that an added mid dial solves the problem completely.

It just be my amp/guitars.

Can I replace the whole circuit with something else? :)

I think the coolest 'mods' I've seen have to do with the way the muff is tuned, so I can't be much help there. I feel like a notch filter/freq boost combination in lieu of the typical tone knob could be a pretty interesting thing to see -- early morning coffee idea but I've never seen that.

Like a sound saw kinda thing + muff? Sounds like fun to me!

I like the way the Faustone/BSM Fuzz Unit is voiced personally. Pretty sure they are muff based.

I would love to see an earthbound Supercolider with a switch that goes between the way they have set up the tone control to work and then the other position would go to a pot with how the dba fuzz war'a tone knob works. That would be rad.

Yeah, I am kind of one-track minded on that. :idk:

But yeah, voicing is huge. The ability to switch between a couple of circuits would be cool - I haven't tried it, but I like the idea of the JHS Muffaletta, where you can dial between different types of muffs. And the more EQ control the better.
