Thanks! It's the perks of working in a bike shops (god bless trade-price parts). I'm an unmitigated bike-tart and Sheffield is quite a pretty city if you find the right places.

Here's what I've been rocking the last 8 years; Gary Fisher Wingera. Put cyclocross tires on last year because I usually ride a gravel trial and the road tires that came on it just weren't cutting it.

This is what I get around on and commute on. I have my old jamis coda for anything over 50 or 60 kilometres/too much in the way of dirt roads, but I'm intending to upgrade to a surly crosscheck or something like that at some point. My back is really bad so I can't hang with drop bars, they were the first thing to go on the kona (edit: just realised the photo doesn't show that. It's a simple flat bar with white tape). Recently got wiped out by a car so have just had the whole thing serviced and set up, took the opportunity to put schwalbes on it for the rest of winter and I'm loving them so far. Still need to get a seat that hurts my junk less at some point.

Nice.

I've got Schwalbe Marathons on my three-speed and I love 'em.

it rained just enough to make the roads really greasy and slippery on the way home tonight and those schwalbes were great. Especially when some d-hole stepped out of from the bushes into the middle of the bike path to take some photos of the exhibition buildings.

Bump. Is anyone on Strava? I'm @dasebeard. Been trying to log a minimum of 100ks a week with mostly commutes. Today is a public holiday so I did 66ish kilometres on paths all through melbourne. Kinda wanna die now.

Rad bike Nils! Very Swedish, for some reason.

I got this one this summer. It's pretty cool for what I do - commuting and week end rides, most often I'm out for bread... Did about 30 kilometers / 20 miles on it today, and about half that on Friday. It's a pretty cool ride. I might work on the crankset and maybe the brakes if I get monies. It's my first non off road bike and I loooove it.

Which brings me. What do you guys think about pedal straps? My city gets pretty hilly, and I think it could be profitable. But I don't want cages or whatever they're called because I don't want to scratch my shoes and things like that (might use it for commuting daily next semester depending on where I get an internship).

It is super fast. I once peaked at 64 kilometers per hour on a flat straight road.

Uni, I'm not sure I would like them, hence the asking. I actually think they could be dangerous if I had to just jump off the bike like I did today. Fucker changed his mind last minute on the roundabout and had me brake like mad and get on my feet super fast.

Im not a fan of straps either unless its for a fixed gear or cyclocross bikenor something. But im also not a fan of pedals swinging around and slicing my achilles open.
