New project, FATHERHOOD

Post by skullservant »

Was able to bring the last of my recording stuff over from my inlaws and get my mics set up tonight. Recorded a track for the first time in almost a year.
Not sure where I'm going with this project, but I had a lot of fun recording it tonight.

I would still like to add vocals to this track, I'm just trying to figure out what I'd like them to sound like...

For those curious, it was my Bastin-necked Jazzmaster and EGC King Buzzo into my pedal board, split into a Peavey Envoy Amp running into a 2x12 bass cab mic'd with a kick drum mic, as well as my Science Shiv on the other side running into a 1x12 mic'd with a vocal mic.

Bass was a Jazz Bass into 5 Knob Driving Notion into Envoy and 2x12.

Drums were programmed. Not sure how I feel about them all the way.

This is nice! Would be cool to hear it with some vocals too.

The programmed drums are much nicer than I ever manage to do with mine. :thumb:

Thanks all! Yeah, I started to try to do vocals last night; but I didn't like them so I will revisit.

Monkey- this new GarageBand virtual drummer is great. I was feeling lazy so I picked a drummer, tweaked the kit he was using, and then it goes to an XY axis grid that you can then modify the beat that they play almost infinitely in terms of velocity, speed, complexity, what part of the drums they focus on. It's insane

Dude! I really dug that a lot! And if you want vocals, that's cool, but I think it works perfectly as an instrumental.

I've never played with the GB virtual drummer before - is that only in the newest version? Looks like I'm gonna need to upgrade, cuz it sounded pretty great!

Awe that's the best.

Plus that tune is rad dude.
Very curious to hear what you're thinking about for the vocals.
