Do it. Make sure you use a quality ABY box. The passive Radial thingy is cheap and works well.

I've found that it sounds really great through a twin reverb! Do you think splitting it out into a bass amp for extra girth would be cool, or would it just be a muddy mess?

I do basically that with a peavey heritage combo and a v4+v2 cab and it sounds perfect. If you're the only instrument in the band it also helps to have a "dry" side when using effects.

Do you use any sort of crossover if you're running 2 amps?

Nah, I just split them and cut the lows on the combo. They're both loaded with pretty flat response speakers.

I run a twin reverb and a yba 200. I have the bass amp clean and a mini in front of the twin with the lows cut on the amp. Space echo splits the signal.

It is the best sound I have ever made.

That sounds fucking rad. Do you use any other pedals or do you keep it barebones like that?

Sometimes I use a DD3 after the mini, sometimes a stanimal Supermuff bigfuzz before the RE-20.
I love dirt on the high end from the mini, it adds so much depth to the clean bass and visa versa.
I'm really excited for the driving notion I have coming. I'm going to put it on the bass side for BASS DESTRUCTIOJNZZ

Also on an unrelated note inspired by my drummer of all people I think my next build after the one I'm working on will be a violin bass IV.

On my EGC doubleneck with the 12-string VI (XII?) I decided to take the 3 octave strings off the E-A-D strings but keeping them on the others and it sounds so much better. I've essentially got my bass strings and my melody/chordal strings. I highly recommend the option if you're considering a custom VI variant.

I think I've posted it up before. I still have the 3 tuners that I'm not using in more in there but I'll probably take them out soon:

Not crap.

Seriously awesome. Gotta be heavy, but whatever. I would love another EGC, thinking maybe bass VI.

Daaaaaaaaaang. :!!!:

I'm thinking pretty heavily about saving for an ecg, they look so cool and everything I've heard has been incredibly positive about sound and quality.

I think they sound great. This is my second one. I can't really see myself spending custom-type money on a non-aluminum guitar. I really think it's a superior way of building them. I wish more companies were making them.

Yeah, the money they cost I could not understand paying for anything that's just a normal guitar. I'm not sure I can justify paying it for an aluminium guitar either... Need to find some way of trying one out.
