Rickenbacker Replacement Pickups?

Post by HAVN »

Any Rick owners here?

I have a 650 Dakota. Love the guitar, but it tends to feedback like crazy whenever the gain is up.

Looks like Seymour Duncan offers a "Rickenbucker", but the page no longer exists. There's also the rewind option from the custom shop, which appears to cost $70 a pickup.

Anyone know anything about JBE pickups? http://shop.joebarden.com/p/r300-for-ric-guitars?pp=12

The nice thing about that option is that if I want to go back to stock I can easily. That said, I never plan on selling this guitar.

No one? :(

Anyone have experience with Seymour Duncan re-winds?

Please also feel free to tell me if you think I'm heading down the wrong path.

Only thing I know of may not be what you're looking for and is the polar opposite of JBE

The humbuckers definitely look interesting. Have you heard any reviews of their products? Only for $90 it seems like a relatively low risk gamble.

Hm. Look interesting, but again I just wonder how they'd take really high gain. I did a quick search and don't really see any demos.
