Pedal collection display project
I've been collecting pedals for over a decade, doing trades with buddies and peers, and I've got quite a few.. in my new shop here I wanted to have a cool display for them and Tanya saw a great idea for displaying kids books... rain gutters!
(I don't know why most pics are rotated! That's happened to me before, they're not rotated in my folder, and I still haven't figured it out.. sorry for the sidewaysness.. if I figure it out I'll change them! )
Here's the parts, 4 x 10 foot lengths of 4" galvanized rain gutters, about 15 bucks each. Also got a bunch of anchors for them, another 20 bucks. And some LED tape from eBay, another 30 bucks.
Here's what they look like on the wall. All the anchors go into studs with big beefy screws so it's really secure.
The gutters are pretty deep so it works best if there's a riser inside the gutters for the pedals to sit on, so they aren't too low in the gutter. Foam pool noodles from the dollar store work perfect, another 10 bucks. We ran a big bead of hot glue underneath them so they're stuck firmly in place.
On eBay you can get rolls of thin LED tape with smd LEDs for really cheap, barely 5 bucks each with free shipping. These are warm white.
The LEDs just need 9-12VDC so I'm just powering 4 strips of them with wall warts and 2.1mm connectors.
Super easy project that didn't cost very much and holds a ton of pedals!

That's like my dream wall. All I want is something like that, but everything patched together via a patch bay so I don't even need to take them down to put them into my signal chain.

That is a beautiful room. I like the paint a lot, too.

If I ever pass out and wake up looking at that wall, you'd have a hard time convincing me I wasn't in heaven (aside from reminding me I"m one evil SOB).
