I mean at least you tried. We have a pat on your head and a participation trophy waiting down the hall.

I am trying so hard not to make a joke about this being what I said to your mom last night. LOL but seriously, ugh, God, you infuriate me. You act as though I was not alive for that era of music. I imagine your voice being really high and nasally IRL.D.o.S. wrote:I mean at least you tried. We have a pat on your head and a participation trophy waiting down the hall.

It's not whether or not you were alive it's whether or not you know what you're talking about, breaux.
Like even between the two sections it's obvious that there's one you actually know and one that you're just using Wikipedia + Allmusic to compile this abortion of a shortlist/cheat sheet for.

Not true, although you'd be correct, I do know metalcore way better. I didn't say nü-metal was my music (I was aware that it sucked as a twelve year old); I said I was alive for it. I was honest about thinking it sucks.D.o.S. wrote:It's not whether or not you were alive it's whether or not you know what you're talking about, breaux.

I have literally never been on Allmusic.

That's not the point, though: the point is the assumed aura of historical authority. It's undercut by the fact that A) you're wrong B) you're just brutally wrong and C) no one was asking for it in the first place, so you're actually just wasting everyone's time with things that are wrong.

Breaux, too far, that's totally disgusting. I really didn't sign on here to see an aborted fetus.D.o.S. wrote:That's not the point, though: the point is the assumed aura of historical authority. It's my fucking TAKE on those genres. I did not say that it was the Bible of those genres. There was no cloud or angel involved. That is my recollection of and experience with nü-metal and metalcore, Blackened Soul challenged the thread to explain the difference to her, and that's what I set out to do. I believe I demonstrated that. They're really, really, different. One is cargo pants and one is tattoo sleeves. One is aggro and one is emo

Wait so this is a thread about gratuitous breakdowns but dead kids are off limits?
I don't think that's intellectually consistent.
