I do have a ton more posts on Muffwiggler and I've done deals/trades with people both here and there.

I also have access to a virtually unlimited amount of stupid Japanese snacks, if that makes any difference :).

I'll vouch for Jonnyangle no issues. He's awesome.

I haven't had any dealings with Oscillateur but I'm pretty sure he's used out buy/sell/trade area before. I see his name a lot here. Seems legit to me.
Sure, but how are you supposed to stalk two posters with a combined 300 posts? Their wish lists? that's kind of lame.

I don't know I don't want to be a dick, but like JA has like 75 posts over 6 months. That's too low, IMO? Although tbh I just did it and they're both reasonably on-topic posters (so they're probably cops) and you can kind of sort of stalk them but it's not really the same as stalking someone I "know" which is kind of the point?

You got to pick up your stalking game, son. Why stop at ILF? You get their full name, username, etc. People usually use the same username across multiple platforms. Find them on social media. Then go full on "detective pin board" on them

That's more or less the unspoken point of the wish list posts back in the day: to provide a dedicated avenue for stalking whatever that person wanted to share about themselves. That's a different thing from being able to look at the list and having some idea of what to send everyone on it before you even start creepin'.

Bleh. Sounds so shitty though.

I don't think I've ever made a "me too" post on here and I don't write unless I have anything somehow relevant to say so yeah, I'm not mr spam-a-lot...
But if it poses existential problems to some of you to have people with less than 500 posts, no big deal. I'll survive :animal:

Another thing to keep in mind is that you've been posting here for four years: that's a different thing than JA's situation. It's hard to talk about without sounding like a dick.

Coming from a dude who posts regularly, and has traded with a ton of members, I think we should pass on the low-post-bros.

I get that they're cool guys, they're on here and they want to participate, but I watched from afar last ILFmas when I had sub-500 posts and it was fine. I had to cut my teeth to roll with the big dogs and I had no problem doing so.

ILFmas is for people that wake up to see how jwar's diet is treating him in the middle of the night. It's for people who send Facebook messages to neonblack while drunk talking about pedals we can't afford. It's for people who will snub their family so they can get custom SS/BS pedals for their internet friends in Scandinavia. It's not for casual posters and people who genuinely appreciate fuzz. It's for the mentally unstable who need fuzz to survive.

Sorry guys, we'll see you next year.

Ok, I'm going to stay out of the yea or nay discussion. Depending on what the ILFsphere thinks, we're on the fence about some of the sub-500 folks. I agree with all points so far. It would suck to stalk someone with like 75 posts. I think Jonny has a Talkbass account but I dunno about cross-forum stalking. Oscillateur seems a little easier to stalk but then it's an issue of fairness. I think we have 3-4 people with low post counts participating this year. Maybe assign all the n00bs to each other? I just want everyone to be happy.

I'm curious what Resin had to say though.

I said that I totally agreed with Thurbus' post and that it's kind of lame to see people want to engage/boost their post count just cause a gift circle jerk is going on

I mean some people don't post a lot while still being rad, but that's why vouching is a thing.

Like you could have 5000 posts in the old Giveaway threads but fuck no you're not getting into ILFSS (imo).
