Guy's I'm a bit confused. I have just picked up a Turbo Rat that was going cheap. On the back it says +9v which I'm assuming means centre positive? Do i need a special cable and plug to run it off my T-Rex Fuel Tank Jnr or will it be okay to run as with other 9v pedals (it has a 2.1mm input rather than the old mini jack type)? The actual Proco manual for the pedal is a bit vague.
Any help would be much appreciated before I do something wrong and fuck it up. Thanks.

That's how all pedals with the 1/8" power inputs are. I use one of the "Boss to DOD" adapters that come with a OneSpot. I've used them no problem with isolated power supplies and Daisy chains.

Yeah but this RAT has a Boss type input jack. So with this in mind can I just plus the T=Rex directly into the RAT or do I need a special cable with Boss barrel ends that is +9v?ThurberMingus wrote:That's how all pedals with the 1/8" power inputs are. You just need the adapter to go to 1/8" Jack, you don't need one to swap power around

Re: Turbo Rat - what is +9V?
Smarty you are good to go. Just use your standard cables. +9V is normal whereas -9V is found on old PNP fuzzes and such. Even plugging in the wrong cable on a rat,I doubt anything damaging would occur.

If it has a Boss power jack it means that it was modded to accept a normal 9v power supply. No Turbo Rat would have come stock with that as the power option!

Re: Turbo Rat - what is +9V?
Thanks amnesiac. I bit the bullet and ran it with a normal 2.1mm from the T-rex and it worked. I think seeing that +9v symbol threw me - Proco must still have a load of pedal chassis marked up from when they still were using the smaller mini jack input? Anyway, thanks for everyone's words.amnesiac305 wrote:Smarty you are good to go. Just use your standard cables. +9V is normal whereas -9V is found on old PNP fuzzes and such. Yeh! Well I wrote to ProCo and got this nice reply back clarifying everything - they're now 9V centre negative but they're using up old pedal chasis which still bear the old centre positive symbol on them:resincum wrote:minifooger delay also has the +9v mark, confused the shit out of me at first
Hi,
Thank you for choosing the Turbo Rat. Your pedal is wired the standard center pin negative just like Boss, Ibanez, and almost everyone. The change to the barrel type power jack is a recent one for us. We had previously used a 3.5mm mini plug wire tip positive. That is where the conflicting info is coming from. The reason for the +9v stems from the old power jack. We decided to work through the stock of overlays we had rather than discard them. I apologize for the conflict this creates.
You can use your T Rex power supply without issue.
BTW: we do still have some pedals that use the old jack. If you are looking at info on the web regarding the Rat2, vintage model Rats (T Rat included) you will see the info about this old jack. It is irrelevant to your unit.
I hope this info was timely and helpful.
Regards,
Bill Eaton
