Like a dream. I feel like the majority of Gibson's I've played are pretty lifeless. There's always that special one, but they are pretty inconsistent. This thing is resonant and alive. Hands down, best guitar I own. I've been playing offsets pretty dedicatedly for the last year or two. This is a nice change of pace. Love the Powertrons plus the bigsby. It's punchy, articulate and ready to rip. I am used to, and really like the comfort of a vintage neck radius but I think this is more like 12"? It's SUPER fast and also fun to play. It's doing what I hope most new guitar purchases do: force me to play differently, try something new. Doug's work is awesome.

Very pretty guitar. I love Firebirds and it looks like a nice variation. 12" radius is standard for a Gibson, so it's vintage correct really. But is it neck through body construction, like a standard reverse FB, or a set neck? Can't quite tell from the pics.
I would have been tempted to go for Firebird pups because I love them so much but sounds like you're more than happy with what you got!

Ha, too true…I default to Fender…7.5" radius is locked in my brain. I am on the quiet hunt for a vintage non-reverse FB.

Yeah. I love this thing so much I wouldn't rule out a second Banshee with Firebird P'ups [and bound top?] down the road. This thing is it's own beast. :) I am really digging some of what I love about a vintage-y sounding humbucker but in an offset guitar, not an LP.

Doug did an "old black" tribute star liner a few months ago that looked stupendous with the Firebird P'up.
