I have a Maschine (mk1) and it's just okay. Honestly I think I'm not the best judge/user though, as I really just use it for sketching beats for more trad songwriting. For me, probably overkill.D.o.S. wrote:Yeah if it works for you I'm sure it'll be great. I want to say Deltz had a Maschine for a bit but idk if that was actually him (I've already confused UC and Eiwind today so I'm off to a bad start when it comes to telling ILFers apart today).
Also new collabo album coming down the pipe that has Ableton Drones all over it (and guitar, too). Hype.

These were great recs. I've had the moog apps on my ipad forever but never realized there were glitchy/granular apps out there. I'm still figuring it all out, but I've had a ton of fun just loading songs into iDensity and blowing them upsonidero wrote:Apesoft had some mad apps out... iDensity and iPulseret

Hey popvulture, yeah it's a lemur template that I made specifically for that performance (controlling audio input processing patches, an audio-reactive visual patch, and EQ/Levels so that I could control the mix from the stage). See the link below for a clip from the performance:popvulture wrote:Also, xchristophex-- what's that iPad app you're running? Lemur?

No, but I've had my eye on the Novation Remote Zero for a long and it does the same sort of thing. I've read lots of mixed experiences with those auto map ccontrollers though so I've been stuck on the fence.louderthangod wrote:Anyone have anything like this? A midi controller that also controls your DAW and plugins and is already set up to run soft synths like Alchemy so you don't have to program the knobs.

Granular synthesis and fuckity samples mostly, all smashed together in Ableton. I even made use of the Max for Live instrument made by our very own Dr. Sherman Sticks MD and linked a few pages back (which is a hell of a lot of fun).
Anyone else getting down with Computer based drone/granular stuff at the moment?

That's quite nice...Ev_O))) wrote:Great thread. Here to spam relevant material:

Is it something you could play live somehow (I mean, really interacting with the music) ?
