I got a 74' Hiwatt SE4122 cab a few months back and want to put some new bass 12" speakers in it and run it at 4 ohms.
I'm not sure what speakers I could get nowadays that wouldn't sound "modern"
I also took the Purple Fane 15"s out of my 74' SE2150 cab because the DR201 would be too powerful to use through it,
So I'm looking for 15"s as well (I've been looking at the Eminence Delta 15, and Eminence Kappa Pro 15.. But apparently they're "modern" sounding...?)
I also want to run this at 4 ohms.
Any suggestions?
I'd probably prefer Eminence because a buddy of mine works at a guitar shop that carries Eminence.

Kappas are definitely what everyone on TalkBass would recommend and basically proclaim everything else is shit.
I've heard good things about Deltas and they cost a little less. I put Delta Pros in my Atlas, which I should be receiving Friday or early next week. I'll let you know what I think. They were recommended by two builders simultaneously as an upgrade option when I was looking to get a cab built.

I've got a 1x15 with a Kappa in it, sounds awesome on bass and guitar. I haven't tried a lot of speakers so can't offer much in the way of comparison, but I'm certainly satisfied with it.
