The Elements is a good call although I tend to lump it in with distortion more.

What about the IdiotBox Blower Box? I haven't tried it but I have heard good things.

With the gain switch down, the Elements is definitely an overdrive. I use it in low-gain mode 80% of the time honestly.

My main ODs are like: Barbershop - neutral and set light. Just a little growl.
Volt Thrower - no diodes setting - upper mid grrrinddd with a punchy bottom. Very fucking snarly and aggressive.
Ezekiel 25:17 - no diodes setting - lower mid grind - big booty time - roll the filter off a little to smooth the grit a tad. Slam a compressor with it.

I also love the BAT Quantum Mystic but I tend to set it in a way that overlaps with the Ezekiel so it hasn't been getting used much. Could free up the Ezekiel for fuzz duty where it sounds great also but just loses by a hair to the Peachfuzz and Heavy Machine on board. Soo if you want that fat booty grind the QM could do it for cheaper than a Zeke.
I've been searchin' for the dolphins in the sea.

Yeah it is such a good dirt pedal period. If I had to choose only one forever, it would be a good choice, so much range and control over it's sound.

I have a Vintage Microtubes, but it seems that I can't get any good sound from it for my bass; anyways, every time I try a new od for bass, after the intial honeymoon, I end returning to an old OCD for low gain and a Fuzzrocious The Demon for more distorted sounds.

Nevertheless, the Vintage Microtubes is one of the best distortion pedals for baritone I've ever tried, quite like a Toneczar Openhaus at its most brutal settings but without its limitless gain.
You're not a musician, you're a low frequencies generator!

Yep

but for what I do with it, it usually has almost too much even in the low gain mode  I'm a bit over 12 o'clock with gain, but I have a heavy hand and it can be pretty gnarly if I hit hard, but otherwise it's definitely an OD, plus in low-gain you can slam it with other fuzzes without too much (or none) feedback trouble

That's almost exactly my settings as well. My amp is non-master-volume, and I have the Elements set with just enough hair to push the amp hard when I dig in.

I recently nabbed a Boss GL-100 I nabbed on the rec from Rfurkamp as essentially "every analog dirt pedal in the Boss catalog" and it's amazing. Two channels, tons of toanz from sub bass to sparkly cleans to low gain crunch to raging metulz, and cheap as chips. I haven't played much bass in a long time, but since I got this I have been playing a ton more. Check it!

The Blower Box is rad. Not exactly low gain. I have found some nice lower gain overdrive sounds in it though.

I love the Vintage Deluxe over the B7k and the B3k. For me that's the perfect overdrive sound where as the b7k is more of distortion pedal. Imo.

I'm going to be the pretentious snob that slings his dick around and says that if a B3K is as good as it gets for you, you need a new rig.

It's amazing at the sounds it goes for.....but it's so color/tone changing. It takes any amp or bass you're using and makes it sound B3K. Not an entirely bad thing.....but if it's what you're going for then you probably want something different completely. In my opinion, The Elements is what you get when you love your tone. Myco/Swell is where I go when I wish it were fatter and warmer. The Grombass was the most versatile that I've tried. Sure there's many many other amazing ones out there.

That actually may be a good point MSU. What kind of rig do you have dude?? Can make a huge difference.

Squier VM fretless jazz > mini-gnome > Gallien-Krueger 200RCB > Aguilar GS115

And the thread title is kinda crude..just wanted to get the pot stirred a little.

AND NOW IT HAS BEEN STIRRED, WITH SOUSIE'S SCHWANZ.
