G&L Tributes
Is there any reason to stay away from them?
I want to get a tele type guitar, and was thinking of getting an ASAT cuz I really loved the usa s500 i had and also it comes left handed so yayyy.
just wanted to know what your guys' opinion is on the tribute series....

Re: G&L Tributes
Haven't tried any of the guitars, but I've played a fair few G&L tribute basses and they've all been very nice.

I've owned an ASAT Special and a L2000. They were both really nice instruments.
Check out the ASAT Special if you can find a lefty because those pickups kill.

I have a Tribute L-2500 and absolutely love it. I haven't had any issues with it, and setups are a breeze. Honestly, they play just as well as the USA models, it's just you can't get as many fit-and-finish options.

G&Ls are amazing. I've owned an asat deluxe and an asat special (still have the special and it's my #1). From everything I've heard, the tributes are right up there with the US-built ones. Electronics are the same. It's just where they're built that's different.

G&L is the shit. For the money, the tribute series beats anything by Fender imo. Which says more about G&L than about Fender, I actually think highly of the lower end Fender stuff.

Re: G&L Tributes
I had a Fallout Tribute for a minute earlier this year. I loved the sound of it when running both the neck p90 and coil split neck bucker at the same time. It was chime-y and full. It played very well considering I never had it set up. The neck was pretty thick, pretty close to my SG.
I ultimately sold it because I found a great deal on my dream guitar and being a college kid working a minimum wage job, I could only keep one around. I don't really miss it, but I had a lot of fun playing it at shows. It cut through the mix very well and it was super lightweight so it was easy to jump around with. Damn that split bridge sounded nice though, I might have to get one of those wired into my main git

Re: G&L Tributes
Honestly they are a bad value in my eyes. Especially new. Not because they arent great guitars but because the resale on USA G&L guitars is the worst. And they arent that expensive to begin with. Getting a nice used USA G&L for way under a grand is a pretty common, though admittedly less common these days than it was 5-10 years ago.
Shit heres a badass tele for $730
