Muse was fantastic as always, no surprise there (although they had Chris's bass way too low in the mix for some reason, not that 99% of soundguys ever have the bass loud enough in the mix). They really were great. However, they aren't the reason for this post.
I want to state upfront (and for which I am admittedly embarassed) that I went into the show without ever having really listened to the Pickups, except for having heard Lazy Eye and Panic Switch on the radio. Well, quite frankly, they kicked my ass. They were awesome. I'm picking up both of their CDs ASAP. They really had some great shoegaze-y noise freak-out crescendos that I just wasn't expecting. Fucking kudos to them for taking someone who went in with no expectations at all and completely converting me.
Yeah, they are both great bands, here in Sweden we got the British band "The Horrors" as the warm-up band tho... I thought they would be much worse from the youtube clips I´ve seen them with (The singer seriously has ahard case of ADHD or something because he can't keep his attetion) but they were pretty focust the whole set, and their guitarist was relaly cool.
And wit hMuse.. Well.. There were no suprice that they was going to blow you away, bu there were some parts that I couldn't stop thinking about: New Born was like the 4th song in the set, and thats WAY to early for that one and when it came to Stockholm Syndrome (Which was played in its "home town" :P) it was SO FRICKIN EPIC that it kind of overblow the epicness of Knights of Cydonia, making it less epic as it usually is. Anyways... I went home after one of the best concerts in my life.

I would have enjoyed The Horrors much more Silversun are playing MTV on Tuesday and I don't have a ride
I know a couple of people who saw them on Wed & Fri of last week. They made me feel like I should have put up the fifty bones to see them. I should have in retrospect.
Do you like listening to homemade music? Me too. Why don't you try one of mine?
