Awesome!

I've almost bought a G40V about 10 times. Now you got me itchy again, ya bastid. I need another project like I need a hole in the head.

Just finished this Matsumin Valvecaster build. You'll excuse me if I don't post gut shots. I'm a little embarrassed about the inside. It's not some of my better work.

Yeah it does look very sexy. Thanks again for the advice and guidance with building it. Im now thinking of building another for my guitar board. Only with a clipping circuit for some extra dirt. I'm thinking of trying to get hold of some shitty low hfe germanium transistors to use as diodes. I've heard this can be done by joining the base and collector to form the cathode and the emitter gets used as the anode. :idk: Would this work? If so, how would I do it with the Valvecaster?

Looks really nice Kaos! The style reminds me of the gamma death ray I saw that somebody built (people were scared to turn it on because I think it actually did some bad stuff...not death, just electrically bad stuff...don't mean that as something bad, just it was cool to look at....it looks awesome!).

Thanks dude. I wanted it to have a vintage industrial vibe and I think I accomplished that quite well. And compared to that gamma death ray device, this is actually something I actually don't want to turn off. Sounds as good as it looks. It is supposed to be a booster/Overdrive. The boost is great but it is lacking in overdrive. It's there but just very subtle. It's to go at the end of my bass board I'm planning and will be getting all my dirt from bass tuned fuzz and o/d pedals. It gives a nice valve warmth to my sterile solidstate bass combo and that's all I really wanted from it. The next one I build for the guitar board I want to get some heavy clipping from it so I'll be experimenting with some diodes in the circuit.

Try different tubes? Put a boost in front of it! Cascade two of them! Put your low hfe GE from output to ground for clipping like a tube/ge electra!

It does look nice

Finally some new stuff. I needed a break so I took a couple months off. But am now excited to do these again.

I love multi's in 1590xx enclosures. This is going to be a Rat into a Musket with a foot-switchable boost that will have an internal set and forget trimmer.
