Joshy "Khaki Soul" Scott announced a Big Muff 2 collaboration with EHX this morning. You could get a red Muff 2 or a yellow Muff with a book. (the book is already sold out and I'm not linking the JHS site.)
Seems weird that a guy you couldn't confidently tell a dirty joke to just wrote a book on Muffs.
500+ page paperback book
....When you dedicate years of time to collecting material for a book, but you're not actually acquainted with books...or holding them in your hands.
Large-format books need to be reinforced with durable binding. You can't expect a softbound book with 500 pages to not fall apart immediately---we're not talking abuse. We're talking about people actually reading the book.
i should say, though, that Mad Mike has more creativity in his small toe than Josh has in his entire body.
parenthetically, i bought a Gretsch Special Jet off Reverb which the seller said was previously owned by Josh. the pickup adjustment was terrible, and i had to shim the bridge pickup to get them balanced. i don’t know exactly what that says, but it seems ill-informed at best.

Huh. They emailed me a 20% off offer on the albino Whammy. Sweetwater doesn’t usually do discounts unless they need to move specific items. So you may be able to get a deal out of them if you want one.

Great choice of color. Practically the same as pedals without any knob labels. Although a Whammy would be easy to operate without any text on it
i got a Digitech English Muffy, IMO the only one of the Character Series amp emulators i like at all, as a freebie when i ordered the Cioks 2-piece power supply bundle. it’s actually a pretty good faux Hiwatt, better than the WIIO. i should try running it into the Princeton for guitars that feel a bit thin sonically like the Duo Sonic and the LB-1-equipped Guilds. but my point is that occasionally you can get an actual deal off of Sweetwater.

my JHS thread TGP post got deleted because i said i'd first heard of Khaki Soul himself on the hauntingMids forum because he stole Devi's pedal for his "Astro Mess" and since then i refuse to but any of his shit

Heh. I always forget about that. Uli and Josh are quite similar, in that they've been associated with so many controversies, that it's hard to keep up. You remember you despise someone/something, but it's often hard to recall the original seed of that distrust.
My intro to JHS' sketchy ties was likely the pancakes church and backdoor funding for genocide. (and his subsequent refusal to condemn their actions) That's probably why I forget about the circuit-copying from other builders.
Vertex’s Mason with many scams, most flagrantly relabeling BBE wahs as his own. But many.
Steve Ridinger who owns Danelectro and Snark Tuners supporting anti-LBGTQ+ ballot initiatives.
Mike Fuller of Fulltone for being a flaming hemorrhoid forever who would fuck over customers in semi-regular fits of pique, as well as more recently expressing strongly fascistic sentiments that hastened his retirement.
The great news is that none of this rogues’ gallery are actually creative or indispensable. So I don’t need anything from any of them.

If you’re particularly fond of Fulltone tuning in his entirely ripped off circuits (all of them), it seems like it’s always more ethical to go clone. But Robert Keeley is also a member of the Trumpenpretariat, so I would pick different clones of clones.
