So if there was a switch on the side of the Minor Concussion, labelled 'internal/external' regarding what triggers it, on 'external' it would work as it does now - triggered by bass drum, or at least something outside of the volume-cutting bit of the circuit. And on 'internal', the guitar itself would trigger it when it exceeded a threshold...
On 'internal' is that what a Boss Slow Gear does?

A Slow Gear acts like a Volume Swell that you can achieve with a knob roll or Vol. pedal sweep, so kind of... The External is more along the lines of a Compressors side chain which uses other sources to "Duck" the signal... I think you get it so the answer is YES...

Also a Guyatone Slow Volume...

On internal it should reach a threshold which is set by a knob and then bring the signal in at a rate that is controlled by another knob...

Yes - the threshold knob is already there in the 'mic level' control, and the signal return control is the current 'release' knob.
Hmmm... Could be good.
I sort of considered this originally, but went with the 'just do one thing really really well' option.
