Really?

The Rat is "Marshall like."

DLS is supposed to be like a Marshall.

Well, I used my friend's RAT through a JCM 2000 and it sounded pretty sweet with low gain on the RAT and about 3 crunch on the amp. That said I'd go with a DLS for the Marshall sound though, it's more versatile in the gain amount than with the RAT, though that just may be the pedal my friend has.

I love the Rat, I just wish it could pass a little bit more Bass. I'm more wondering if the DLS would have more.

There are some pretty common mods out there to allow more bass in a Rat. Sadly, I don't know what they are, but everyone's always talking about 'em on TalkBass. I had a couple of mods done to my Turbo Rat, and it definitely got more bass... I could try to find out what the guy did to it if you'd like.

Keeley mods Rats well, and they do increase the bass as well as other improvements, but you'll have to send them your own rat as they don't mod new ones anymore.

You want the Ruetz Rat mod. I did it to mine, no looking back. You lose a little fuzz, but the bass response goes up by a huge amount.
